Aerospace Manufacturing & Maintenance Technology

Aerospace Manufacturing & Maintenance Technology

About the Program

For an ever-evolving industry, the Aerospace world is constantly in search of young and energetic enthusiasts who are well prepared and trained to combat the demanding needs of the industry.

We have evolved from 1902 when the Wright brothers took to gliding from the mountains before making a landmark step in a powered flight a year later in 1903. Today well over a hundred years later; we are not only producing sustained powered aircraft but also B787 Dreamliner, the world’s first major airliner to use composite materials as the primary material. The construction of its air frame makes it the most fuel efficient aircraft in the world.

In this program I will prepare you using resources and tools provided by Boeing, our major partner in the Aerospace Manufacturing & Maintenance Technology program. Whether your focus is Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance or Commercial Pilot, you will learn the necessary skills and knowledge to make your transition into the industry with ease. You will learn about the theory of flight, aircraft engines, aircraft electrical and hydraulic systems and structures through lectures, lab/workshop, field trips and assignments.

Successful students from this program can earn up to 20 college credits at the completion of the first year, and an additional 20 credits when they return and complete the second year of the curriculum by testing into the Aviation program at EvCC. Students must successfully complete the Aviation entry exam in order to receive any of the 40 college credits. This class has a $25 annual lab fee.

Welcome aboard and I look forward to seeing you!

Meet the Instructor!

Aerospace Manufacturing Instructor

My name is Kareen Morales Vincent. I am the instructor for the Aerospace Manufacturing & Maintenance Technology program at Sno-Isle TECH. I have been in aviation for over 18 yrs. I earned my Associates in Applied Sciences in 2000 and obtained my FAA Certifications in the ratings of Airframe and Power Plant from Vaughn College of Aeronautics, La Guardia Airport, NY. I was recruited from college to work on United States Navy and Marine Trainers at Naval Air Station Meridian, MS, where I contributed to training hundreds of military pilots from all over the world. I moved to Washington state in 2007 to work on the Boeing 787 program. While there, I spent time working on the 767, 777 and the 787 programs. Earlier this year, I taught in conjunction with the awesome aviation team at Everett Community College as an Associate Faculty Member and had rewarding experiences working with students. I look forward to seeing you and sharing my experiences with you as you find your way.

My objective is to prepare you with all the necessary tools to enter the aerospace industry or an Airframe and Power Plant program in college, with confidence and knowledge to choose your own path. Whether it is Commercial Pilot, Certified Aircraft Mechanic, Air Traffic Controller, Engineer or Skilled Manufacturing Mechanic, you will have the necessary tools to take the step into the Aerospace world.
