About the Program

Animation at Sno-Isle TECH is a college preparatory class. Students work closely with computer programmers for the gaming industry so there is a strong emphasis on team work. Computer animation and computer graphics (CG) have strong foundations in traditional 2D (two dimensional) art; therefore, along with 3D computer skills, students will be drawing with pencil, charcoal, pen & ink, along with painting and sculpting by hand. Students study the principles of animation, human anatomy, story development and portfolio development. Students learn to design and create animations for both video and video games using a combination of traditional art, digital 2D computer programs, and 3d animation software. This course prepares students for skills necessary for production level art and animation.

Strong drawing skills are not needed. Such skills will be developed and refined as you progress throughout the program. If you are a passionate artist and you enjoy working with others, and would like to pursue Animation as a career, this is the class for you!

Meet the Instructor!

Photo Coming Soon!

Hello! My name is Keira Wentworth, I am the Animation Instructor here at Sno-Isle TECH!

I have been a part of the Sno-Isle TECH community for quite some time. I began my journey as a student in summer school for three years and continued in the full-year program for two years. Additionally, I served as an advisory member for four years after graduating.

For the past three years, I've had the privilege of working as a substitute teacher and a summer school Animation instructor. This experience has been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to engage with students and witness their growth firsthand.

In addition to my work in education, I collaborated with Seattle Public Libraries to develop a VR game for a charity organization. My background also includes three years as a graphic designer for a small business, along with freelance design work during that time.

I am very excited to teach and inspire our students, and I look forward to seeing their progress throughout the year.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns about the class!
